As of today (March 12), CBJ has a 56% chance of making the playoffs: http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL.html

Until CBJ prove they consistently win against top teams, I have them as OUT.

I'd love to see them make it . . . but I question their character to sustain hard play game after game.
The Jackets played hard, on the puck, pushed their offense, Saturday vs the Pens . . . then sloughed off against NYI last night. The offense was non-existent.
There's no consistency coming from the CBJ - some of that might be due to the constant mixing of players on lines.

I felt as birdie03 does, no offense. While there may have been puck possession and zone time, it was all on the perimeter. Scoring chances were lacking. Atkinson did have 2 good shots that hit post, but that seemed like it. When Savard is creating the 'good scoring chances' the CBJ will be struggling.

On a better note, shots started going in against Boston. Jenner may be the key to offense - sounds weird.

Note about Jenner:
Columbus has lost every game Jenner has missed this season.

Thanks for the posts, nice to see some people still have hope for this team. I don't. Even after the trades we have a grand total of maybe two lines every night that can score, and the heralded defensemen that could score and drive possession aren't doing either of those things.

It is the normal CBJ way, score goals when Bob is playing terrible (ie: most of the season), score no goals when he is playing great (the last 10-12 games).

It's been fun for a while, but unless a miracle happens the end of the regular season is the beginning of the 5-7 year rebuild. Anyone know where one of those draft position sites are? Maybe I can spin it it enough to get us the #1 pick.
